Key West on a Budget

Party in Key West on the Cheap! Yes, you heard it. You can make yourself an amazing trip to North America's tropical paradise without breaking the bank.

Party in Key West on the Cheap! Exotic Key West sunset cruises, exquisite cuisine and exciting nightlife abound in Key West – but at hefty prices. The good news? You don't have to pay them! In fact, you can have a truly extraordinary time in Key West on a budget. All you need is a little creativity and foresight. There is so much to do in Key West Florida without spending a lot of money. You can do the Duval Crawl, the famous walk down Key West's famous Duval Street, and hit the bars along the street; Sloppy Joe's, Ricks & Durty Harry's, Captain Tony's, the Smallest Bar in Key West, and Hog's Breath. You can head out to Smather's Beach and bask in the sun. Hit Mallory Square at night and watch the sun hit the water as the street performers entertain you.

Key West Dining

Instead of lunch at that overpriced cafe on Duval with the free-appetizer coupon, head away from the throng. Visit Colez Peace Deli and get the best deli sandwich on the island or try the deliciously inexpensive tabbouleh at Caroline's on Duval. In a rush? Grab a slice from Angelina's pizza joint on Duval Street (in front of the Rick's/Durty Harry's bar). On an extra-tight budget? Visit Publix in New Town, stock up on fresh eats and take your picnic down to Smathers Beach. Pro tip: It's tempting to splurge on lavish dinners at all those famous Key West restaurants – and perfectly okay, too! – but if you want a romantic meal without the unromantic cost, we recommend wine and Italian takeout on your hotel balcony or poolside.

Want to partake in a tasty beverage without breaking the bank? Try to hit the best happy hours. The Conch Republic Seafood Company has 2/1 happy hour drinks every day...and did we mention the view? Spectacular. It's a favorite local and tourist hangout.

Now, do you want to partake in an amazing dinner in Key West? The Tavern N Town has an amazing happy hour dinner - as long as you're seated before 6:30pm, anything on the menu is only $19.99! Yes, you head that right. Enjoy fish, or salmon or scallops...and we may as well mention, they have an amazing wine list with a buy one, get one free! You can't go wrong!

Key West Accommodations

Always see Key West in the low season. The difference in rates can be well over $100 per night – a huge savings. Before you book, ask about specials, discounts (military, student, AARP, etc.) and included services. Make sure the hotel's location suits your vacation plans to avoid wasting money on taxis. Some hotels throw in attraction passes, tickets and coupons with rooms. Find your Key West place to stay here.

Pro tip: Don't book online. Call and speak to a staff member to dramatically increase your chances of a better deal.

Key West Activities

Want to go Fishing but don't have that kind of dough? Here's an idea... hop on a Key West fishing party boat for up to six hours on the water for as low as $45 per person (even cheaper for kids!).

You can even find sunset sails with unlimited beer, wine and snacks for around $35 each. Check out these amazing trips and enjoy the romance, party, or just the beauty of the beautiful waters.  http://partyinkeywest.com/pages/key-west-sunset-sail.html

Or, stay on dry land and head to the absolutely free nightly sunset celebration in Mallory Square. Get ice cream, window-shop on Front Street or feed the tarpon at Key West Bight. Pro tip: Get a Key West tourist map when you arrive and plan your own personal walking tour. You'll see, experience and discover so much more than the average visitor!

Key West Nightlife

Key West Bar-hopping can make a serious dent in your budget, especially at the bars most popular with tourists. Do a little research and you'll find bars that cater more to locals and generally lower prices. Want to partake in a tasty beverage without breaking the bank?

Try to hit the best happy hours. The Conch Republic Seafood Company has 2/1 happy hour drinks every day...and did we mention the view? Spectacular. It's a favorite local and tourist hangout.

Fat Tuesdays frozen drinks are always a hit. The frozen concoction of your choice will help cool you off in the tropical heat of Key West.

Pro tip: Go to the Smallest Bar in Key West and get a photo of you and your new-found friends in this famous landmark. You should definitely make time for karaoke and cheap cocktails at Two Friends or 801 Bourbon Street.

You can make yourself an amazing trip to North America's tropical paradise without breaking the bank. For more budget tips on Key West go to this article:
